The Sixth and the final part of the Resident Evil series, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is all set to hit the theatres. The Resident Evil series is loosely based on action-horror video games by the same name. Despite its negative reviews, the Resident Evil film series is the highest-grossing film series to be based on video games.
The backdrop to the whole of story is that a bioengineering pharmaceutical company called Umbrella Corporation accidentally releases the T-virus responsible for the zombie apocalypse.
Actress Milla Jovovich who plays the character of Alice in the movie series, will be seen returning to The Hive in the Raccoon city, the place where it all started. She is helped by the artificial intelligence, Red Queen. The movie supposedly begins where Resident Evil: Attribution left. Like in every movie, there is a final promised cure in this too. The movie also brings some old protagonists and villains in the form of Claire Redfield, Albert Wesker and Dr Isaacs.
The good thing is.. finally the franchise is coming to an end and the bad thing is.. there isn’t any. We have pretty much seen every aspect of every character in this series and watching them over and over again with the same details, background and motive, adding only a little bit of different settings and different kill-shots don’t count for anything. The movie boasts of laser grids, barrelled guns, hidden secrets, mutated dogs and super-mutated beings – all-in-all, nothing you haven’t seen in the previous installments.
This seriously will be a fan-only movie. Good for the actors.. they will get to do more than just Resident Evil, especially Milla Jovovich.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter release on February 3, 2017.
