‘Guardians’ is the Russian Superhero answer to American Marvel Superheroes

Guardians or Zaschitniki in Russian is an upcoming Russian movie, featuring Russian superheroes.  The movie is directed by Russian-Armenian director Sarik Andreasyan, known for American Heist, and stars Sebastien Sisak, Anton Pampuchniy, Sanzhar Madiev, Alina Lanina, Valeria Shkirando and Stanislav Shirin.

The reported budget of the movie is 330 Million Russian Rubble (equivalent to about $5 Million) and compared to Marvel with an average budget of $178 Million and the X-Men with $141 Million, the movie looks amazing with great animation and effects. FYI, Deadpool had the smallest production budget in the class of superhero movies with just $58 Million.

What’s The Story?

The movie is about a team of Soviet superheroes that were created during the Cold War by altering their DNA. The team includes of four individuals with special abilities who represent different nationalities of the Soviet Union. These heroes have been long in hiding, but come together for the greater good of the nation. They fight another super human being with the power to make every machine powerless. He is on his way to win over Moscow and scale the entire world eventually.

So, Just like Marvel’s Captain America, who was “Created”, during the war. These Russian superheroes were created during Cold War by a special team called Patriot. Also, keeping in mind, a lot of experiments were done with them which included harnessing the blue energy. Well, doesn’t that remind of Tesseract. I mean that’s blue for one and has a lot of power. Also, the experimentation reminds one of the X-MEN.
