Zayn Malik Sang Teri Deewani and It’s actually Good

Zayn Malik surprised his 2.1 million followers on Instagram by singing a beautiful cover of Kailash Kher's hit sufi track, Teri Deewani.

Zayn Malik, the singer-songwriter popstar has been experimenting with new music for quite some time now. He keeps teasing his 2.1 million followers on Instagram with snippets of new music that are more blues, centering around the piano. And not just songs, Zayn has been recently taking to Instagram and sharing some of his poetry too. But, the latest addition to the post is his attempt at singing a Hindi-song. Kailash Kher’s powerful sufi song, Teri Deewani immediately stuck to our hearts, when it was released in 2006. It is still one of the most listened sufi tracks in India.

The London-based singer who found fame along with his fellow bandmates through One Direction showed his powerful vocals by doing some beautiful aalaps. Easily treading his way through the high notes of the song, Zayn posted two videos of 49 seconds and 35 seconds respectively. Not caring at all about the accent or the break pauses, his effort is the true testament to the fact that music knows no language and knows no boundaries.
